“How remarkable is it that it’s gone from being [illegal] to being classified as an essential business? I think that that’s a permanent shift — I don’t think you go back to saying that it’s a bad thing," Nancy Whiteman, CEO of Boulder edibles manufacturer Wana Brands, told DBJ.

Sales are booming at local dispensaries and people are buying larger amounts of cannabis products during each visit, according to emerging data and anecdotal accounts — but as other types of businesses around the region shut down in the face of coronavirus, cannabis entrepreneurs are uncertain what comes next.
"We are a resilient industry that’s taken a lot of punches, and I think we'll survive, but we will change and I think that purchasing habits will change," said Jill Lamoureux, co-founder of The Republic, a Boulder dispensary that just opened in February.
